Deep down in the woods of Isla Verde is a place beyond the trees where you find the noxious liquor and mysterious elixir that turns men into monkeys. If you visit Isla Verde say ‘Ahoy’ to the crushing addiction of Strupo. Strupo!”
Obviously inspired by the great Simpsons, Dxtr always wanted to create some kind of Absinth-esque scenario. Something that could be printed on the label of some old and dangerous elixir. That Simpsons episode, where an artist lives on the island and drinks the Strupo is so bizarre, he created this piece based on that story.

Based in Dusseldorf, DXTR is a member of the German-Austrian crew The Weird, a talented international street art / graffiti group known for their warped and imaginative characters. He’s been drawing since childhood and in 1999, at the age of 16 he got into illegal graffiti, introduced by some friends - classical stuff. He really liked painting at night, but also focused on sketching
and character based things since the beginning. Hanging out at his friends house and sketching in black books was a daily routine. In 2006 he moved to Dusseldorf to study Communication Design at the University of Applied Science. He still lives and works there as a freelance illustrator alongside The Weird’s mural projects.
